COLLECTION FOR THE CHURCH
IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE
This weekend the second collection will go to aid the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. In this part of the world the Church is emerging from 70 years of communist rule and is vigorously involved in rebuilding the faith of its people. Proceeds from the collection are used for providing religious education programs, training seminarians, expanding social ministries to those in need, and rebuilding ruined churches, convents, and schools. Your generosity can help provide the resources so that their faith and that of their children can continue to grow and be nourished.
Food for the Hungry Collection is next weekend
PARISH PAY
With summer vacation upon us it would be a good time to think about an alternate way of supporting Saint Linus. Collections are significantly less when the good weather comes and people are away. In an effort to make it more convenient for parishioners to financially support Saint Linus, we now offer you the ability to make your offertory contributions electronically. You have the option to simply have a predetermined monthly amount withdrawn from your checking or savings account that will be automatically deposited into the Parish Offertory. Visit www.parishpay.com.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
If you have a child going into Grade 1 or you have a Kindergartener, please let us know. We have no way of knowing who will be of age for our Religious Education Program. There are flyers available at the doors of the church or you may call the Religious Ed Office at 508-653-6005. You may leave the flyer in either the sacristy or the CCD mailbox. Thank you!
Children's Liturgy of the Word
We are in need of two or three adults to join our St. Linus' Children's Liturgy of the Word team of ministers. Children's Liturgy of the Word takes place during the 9AM Mass weekly throughout the year.
After the Gathering Rite children are invited to go downstairs to the Lower Church where they proclaim, celebrate and reflect on God's Word led by a Parish Minister of the Word. Children's readings are taken from the Lectionary for Masses with Children. The children will then hear an age appropriate homily meaningful to them. They return to the faith community for the Liturgy of the Eucharist and the Concluding Rites.
We will provide preparation materials and scheduling is arranged on month to month basis according to your availability.
Please consider this much needed ministry. For info, please contact Donna McIntosh or Jeanmarie Lawson at 508-653-6005.

Cheryl Chagnon Lymphona Research
Team Cheryl of the Cheryl Chagnon Lymphoma Research Fund, will again be running in the Cigna Falmouth Road Race on August 15, 2010. Cheryl has been advised not to run because she is currently in treatment but will be there to cheer her team on. This years donation, Nexcelcom Celometer Vision Automatic Cell Analyzer, used to aid in the studies of childhood leukemia has been made in honor of Kenneth William Reid, a young man from Natick who also had lymphoma and lost his battle with cancer on March 1st 2009 at the age of 31. His faith and belief in hope was an inspiration. Over the past 9 years the Foundation has raised more than $225,000 for blood cancer research. Of that they have donated over $160,000 to the Center for Regenerative Medicine at MGH in the purchase of several pieces of equipment that have helped expedite the research in blood cancer. None of this would have been possible without the continued support of friends. Pledge sheets are available at the doors of the church or send them to Cheryl Chagnon Lymphoma Research Fund, Inc.
